My mission is to create a healing space where everyone feels seen, valued, and never alone in their journey.

I am committed to providing culturally responsive, and strength-based care that honors the whole person, their story, their culture, and their power.

I believe that healing is not a privilege reserved for the few, but a right that belongs to everyone. Through genuine connection, clinical excellence, and deep cultural humility, I am dedicated to walking alongside my clients as they rediscover their resilience, reclaim their peace, and step boldly into the fullness of who they are meant to be.

I’m Domonique M. Messing

A Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience dedicated to mental health, healing, and human connection.

My journey into this field was never accidental it was deeply personal. I built my clinical foundation in community mental health and residential foster care settings, where I came face to face with some of the most vulnerable and resilient people I have ever known. Those spaces shaped me. They showed me that effective care had to be more than clinically sound it had to be culturally aware, trauma-informed, and genuinely human. My path into perinatal and postpartum mental health grew from my own lived experience during pregnancy, where I navigated quiet anxiety, self-doubt, and an isolating loneliness that nobody around me seemed to name. That season of my life didn't just stay with me it moved me into purpose. I also carry a deep personal commitment to representation. The shortage of African American mental health providers isn't a statistic to me; it's something I've witnessed up close and take personally. Showing up as that representation is not just part of my mission it's part of who I am.

When I'm not in session, you can find me lost in a good book or audiobook, geeking out over Marvel comics, or exploring somewhere new because adventure, storytelling, and curiosity are at the heart of everything I do.

every person who walks through my door already carries within them the strength, resilience, and capacity to heal my role is simply to help them find it.

As a person-centered, strength-based therapist, I meet each client exactly where they are, without judgment, without rushing, and without a one-size-fits-all agenda. I create a space that feels safe enough to be honest, warm enough to be vulnerable, and empowering enough to spark real change. I draw from a trauma-informed lens, meaning I understand that many of the behaviors, emotions, and patterns my clients carry are not flaws they are adaptations to pain that deserved better care. For my younger clients, that may look like processing big feelings through the natural language of play. For mothers and adults, it may look like finally having a space to be seen, heard, and prioritized perhaps for the first time. Woven through everything I do is a deep commitment to cultural humility, because healing that doesn't honor who you are, where you come from, and what you've lived through is incomplete. I don't believe in fitting people into frameworks I believe in building the framework around the person. Therapy with me is a collaborative journey, one where your voice leads, your story is honored, and your healing is always the goal.
